Author Fran Parker grew up in Massachusetts. She received her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her M.A. in Education for the Mentally Handicapped from the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY.

Fran holds teaching certificates in the following four areas: Elementary Education, Learning Disabilities, Education for the Emotionally Handicapped and for the Mentally Challenged.

After thirty-six years of teaching, Fran currently lives in San Diego where she continues to develop reading materials and manage Teddy Bear Press.
